McCain's Saving Grace?

Obama has been making a strong statement with his popularity the past few months. Senator John McCain, on the other hand, has blended into the political background. I honestly haven't even heard much about McCain's campaign until he recently selected Sarah Palin as his running mate for the upcoming election. Palin's position as running mate has boosted McCain's popularity among voters to some degree. A recent article in the Wall Street Journal emphasizes the recent "novelty" of Sarah Palin, WSJ.com - Palin Lifts McCain's Support*. This article is definitely worth checking out as the Presidential election draws near. Voters need to be fully aware for themselves about the Candidates they vote for. This article calls for an urgency to be sure you aren't just following the crowd.

Palin's popularity seems to be evening out the poll race with Obama. Women, southerners, and rural voters have expressed more favor toward McCain's campaign since Palin joined the race. Most people seem to blindly support the new female running mate without much knowledge of her background or credibility. One pollster pointed out that sharp rises in popularity often have a large drop off. We will have to continue to watch the "Sarah Palin novelty" unfold and judge if the Alaska Senator can really be John McCain's saving grace in the upcoming election.
